WHAT WE WANT
Related to country: Kenya

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Wewant to claim our identity,
We want to be heard,
To rule, to work, to revolutionise.
Set up a new colony,
That which hears, feels and listens,
The plight of the masses.

We want to work for a future
Of economic stability and growth.
Reduce the deaths in our streets.
Of people striving to eke out a living,
Of young teenagers dying in abortion theatres;
Trying to face out unwanted pregnancies,
Pregnancies implanted by reckless fellas,
Who dont wanna take responsibility,
As they know the law defends them,
These, yes these, we have to put behind bars.

We dont want to waste time strugglng for power,
Yet thousands are denied theur rights to live life,
We want to cleanse our society,
That mothers, sisters and daughters feel free;
To feel great not agony of being women
Not look, left, right, back and forth,
For these inhuman rapists,
Who trail their steps waiting to clinch the much awaited opportunity.
These, yes these too, have to face the music,
And dance to the tune they themselves composed.

We want our youths being absorbed into jobs,
The masses in slums feel like human beings
Edge out all fake, empty promises,
A new beginning,
A new era,
We living as brothers and sisters
Not wild beasts in the wild.
Being free to own property,
Being secure to walk the nation.

WE SEE THE FUTURE
Related to country: Kenya

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

We struggle with education to high levels,
Only to come and navigate all corners of offices
You even know places better than those working in them!
The future's so black and gloomy
Bestowing hopelessness; thwarting ordemolishing efforts,
Everyone's seeking to use us;
Cause we are a leeway to high places.
Empty promises by politicians bombered our minds
Yet in real sense it's just fairy tale tales.

We told you are leaders of tomorrow,
We know tomorrow never comes!
When we fight for these positions,
We told , you have no experience.
They continue holding to top positions.
We put hem on top,
They get fat, rich and wealthy,
We are forgotten like passing winds,
No hope whatsoever.

It's time for we now to come together
To compose we a new song,
Asong for freedom for every we.
We are not going to be taken for a ride,
For we know now better
We are not ready for a wild goose chase,
We have seen the future!
We have opened wide our eyes
We fight for the third liberation;
From these cruel "Neo-colonisers"

This is the time, the time is now,
Time for youth liberation.
They'll start pulling their usual rymes
But we have composed a new rhythm
We have set up a whole new colony
We want to harvest the fruits
Not eat the left overs,
Enough is enough!
We say, The Time is Now!

ARE THESE REALLY LEADERS?
Related to country: Kenya

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Just recently we had both parliamentary and civic nominations in our nation, where we elected people we deemed fit to govern us and our resources. We not only elected them but we did so peacefully because we love and adore democracy.

What I didn't like is the issue of some prominent politicians trying toimpose upon us people - we edged out coz of their poor perfomances- just coz they are the so called "Political Heavy Weights". I really don't care whether one can fight Mike Tyson in politics or can oppose George Bush what we want si what we get and that too is what we elected.

To say the least most of members of the ninth parliament should go back home as they have done nothing!

I'm utterly disgusted on how some leaders handled the nomination process. If at all they are good leaders why did they try toimpose on su guys we didn't want in the first place?
And did they have to wait until kenyans fight each other and in the process kill a policeman for them to accept the people we elected?
And these are the same people who want us to elect them as presidents to govern this nation. Or do they think that we are all that stupid or that forgetful as twits?

My urge to kenyans is for them to open wide their eyes and see clearly, especially the youths coz it's us who suffer the most.
Lastly lets not give in to election violence. It's the same us who'll suffer not the politician. He/she will probably be enjoying a sumptuos meal in an executive hotel somewhere and you are ther busy fighting for them to the extent of killing each other!
Hey! Wake up folks its time to show this guys what we are really made of.
